The law urges the Tennessee Opioid Abatement Council and each participating county to spend at least 25% of opioid abatement fund money on giving out and promoting overdose-reversal drugs like naloxone. This applies to spending they approve from the statewide opioid settlement fund. The 25% target stays until Tennessee’s overdose death rate drops by at least 25%. This increases access to lifesaving medicine for people at risk and their families.
