Distilleries can sell drinks on-site

A distiller’s license allows sales to legal-age customers to drink on the distillery premises, if federal law allows it. Drinking is not allowed on the bonded premises. Spirits sold for on-site drinking must be made on the premises or be lawfully obtained under the statute.

More on-site sales for alcohol makers

Licensed Tennessee manufacturers can sell at retail on their premises products made on-site. They can also sell a brand they own that is bottled and imported from Mexico, if it meets all U.S. import rules, Mexico’s federal standards, and the Consejo Regulador del Tequila, and is a distinctive product that must be made in Mexico. Sales to one person per visit are capped at 5 gallons or 1/6 of a barrel. Makers may give samples to people of legal drinking age at any spot allowed by federal law, may include them in public tours, and must tell the Tennessee Alcoholic Beverage Commission where samples are offered. On-site retail hours are 8:00 a.m.–11:00 p.m. Monday–Saturday and 10:00 a.m.–11:00 p.m. Sunday.
