Bill Overview

Analyzed Economic Effects

2 provisions identified: 1 benefits, 1 costs, 0 mixed.

Annual safety reports on stadium impacts

The law requires the police agency over a sports authority facility in a county with 366,200 to 366,300 people (2020 or later census) to file a yearly report. The report is due to the General Assembly on or before January 1 each year. It must list public safety issues tied to the facility, including DUI, public intoxication, and vandalism.

Stricter alcohol licenses for sports venues

The law tightens who can get an on-premises alcohol license at a sports authority facility. A facility must be in a city or county with more than 350,000 people, based on the 2020 or later federal census. For any license issued after March 1, 2030, facilities in a county with 366,200 to 366,300 people (per the 2020 or later census) cannot receive a license. The act is now in effect.
