Bill Overview

Analyzed Economic Effects

2 provisions identified: 2 benefits, 0 costs, 0 mixed.

Longer window to charge unlawful photography

The law defines “disseminate” to mean transfer, publish, or make accessible. For unlawful photography cases, the time limit to file charges pauses while the offender hides the crime. The pause lasts until the victim discovers the crime. These rules start July 1, 2025.

Protective orders for voyeurism victims

The law lets victims of observation without consent and unlawful photography file for an order of protection. These crimes are added to the list of domestic abuse and related offenses the court can act on. It creates two new victim types in the law so courts can clearly grant relief. The updates apply across petitions, orders, and enforcement sections. These protections take effect upon becoming law.
