Providers face limits on investigation notices
Effective upon enactment, Tennessee limits notices by electronic communications providers during investigations of covered child sexual exploitation offenses. Providers cannot tell account holders or other unauthorized people about the delivery or contents of related warrants or subpoenas. Providers may notify account holders 90 days after giving law enforcement the requested information, records, or data. A law enforcement officer can request up to 30 more days of delay during the initial 90-day period.
