Bill Overview

Analyzed Economic Effects

2 provisions identified: 1 benefits, 0 costs, 1 mixed.

New authority and fewer pharmacy limits

Beginning July 1, 2025, state law adds certain authorized pharmacists to the list of professionals covered by a key pharmacy rule. It also changes older wording so agencies and plans must not prohibit certain actions that text once required them to prohibit. Together, these edits open up some pharmacy services and reduce past limits.

Pharmacy birth control access and fees change

Beginning July 1, 2025, the law changes how birth control at pharmacies is handled. It removes insurance-only wording, so the rule no longer speaks only to insured people. It ends a prior no administrative fee rule, so some patients may face a pharmacy admin fee. It also updates which nurses and other providers are named in the law. Health plans and pharmacies apply the revised list when offering these services.
