Free sponsored hunts for disabled veterans

Beginning July 1, 2025, a nonprofit that sponsors and pays for a hunt can get a group permit for the event. If you are a veteran with any service‑connected disability, you do not pay the permit cost. You must give the information needed for an individual hunting license. The agency accepts Veterans Administration certification as proof of your service‑connected disability.

Rules and limits for sponsored hunt permits

Beginning July 1, 2025, a group permit only covers the specific hunt and lasts no more than seven days. The hunt must follow all hunting laws and rules. The agency may collect limited participant information to confirm who attended and meet funding rules. The commission can set rules to run this permit program.
