Workers can combine impairment ratings

Beginning July 1, 2026, injured workers can add impairment ratings from more than one authorized treating doctor. The total must be at least 10% to the body as a whole, using the AMA Guides. Hitting this threshold makes you eligible for benefits under this section. The law also makes clear that multiple doctors’ certifications count.

New fund supports vocational recovery

Beginning July 1, 2026, the administrator deposits collections into a Subsequent Injury and Vocational Recovery Fund. The fund can pay for job training and return-to-work help for injured employees who qualify under subsection (i). It can also pay legal defense for the fund and the Bureau’s computer system.
