More state money for PFAS cleanup

The law creates a continuing PFAS fund run by the Department of Natural Resources. It provides $132.3 million from the PFAS fund: $79.5 million for community grants, $5.25 million for airport grants, $35 million for private well compensation, $10.891 million for required PFAS work, and $1.619 million for DNR PFAS operations. Most PFAS grants are funded in FY 2025–26, with smaller amounts in FY 2026–27. The state also adds $1.31 million from the general fund for related DNR operations in FY 2026–27 ($118,900, $929,900, and $261,600).

PFAS funding tied to other bills

The law says it is void unless one of two other bills (2025 SB 128 or AB 131) becomes law in the 2025–26 session. If neither bill is enacted, all changes and funding in this act end.
