Parents can safely surrender babies up to 30 days

Wisconsin’s safe-haven law now covers babies up to 30 days old. Before, it only covered the first 72 hours. You may give up custody by handing the baby to a police officer, EMT, or hospital staff. You must not say you plan to return for the child. A court can issue a final order that you surrendered the child under this law.
