Utility terrain vehicles get higher weight limits
Wisconsin raises the weight limit for utility terrain vehicles from 3,000 to 3,500 pounds, measured without fluids. This lets heavier vehicles qualify while keeping the other requirements unchanged, including design mainly for off-highway use. The definition that checks original manufactured weight applies the new cap to both original and current weight. That definition still excludes golf carts, low-speed vehicles, dune buggies, mini-trucks, and tracked vehicles. It also excludes vehicles meeting federal motor vehicle safety standards in effect on July 1, 2012.
