If you lawfully live and are domiciled in Wyoming, you can ask a court for a writ of mandamus. This lets you seek an order forcing a state or local official or employee to follow this law. You must show you lawfully live and are domiciled in Wyoming.
This law takes effect as soon as all steps to become law are complete under the Wyoming Constitution. All bans and the private right to seek court orders start at that time.
Cities, towns, counties, and state agencies cannot adopt rules that stop officials from sharing immigration-status information with federal officers when on duty. Officials are free to share that information while doing their jobs. No city, county, or the state may declare itself a “sanctuary.” The governor cannot issue an order calling Wyoming a sanctuary state.
