Officials cannot take private election funds

The law bans state and county election officials from asking for or using private money, grants, property, or services to run elections. All election costs must be paid with public funds. Any person or nongovernment group also cannot offer or give such donations. The ban does not cover meals for election training or food for poll workers and staff on election day, and it does not cover special district elections under W.S. 22-29-113. Election offices may still use federal election funds as allowed by law, and private property may still be used as a polling place under the Election Code. The rules take effect July 1, 2025.
