Beginning July 1, 2025, rock climbing counts as a recreational activity under Wyoming’s Recreation Safety Act and landowner liability law. Landowners who let people climb on their property get the Act’s liability protections. Climbers take on more of the sport’s inherent risks and have fewer ways to sue landowners for injuries. Parking and access on private land tied to climbing are also covered.
