Beginning July 1, 2025, Wyoming changes the due‑diligence rule for post-conviction DNA testing. People convicted on or before July 1, 2008 do not need to show due diligence to get testing. For trials or pleas after July 1, 2008, courts do not order testing if the person skipped testing or DNA evidence for strategy or lack of due diligence. An exception applies if the failure was due to ineffective assistance of counsel.
