No forced pronoun use by government

Beginning July 1, 2025, state and local governments cannot force employees to use another employee’s preferred pronouns. They cannot make this a condition for hiring, keeping a job, contracts, grants, loans, permits, licenses, or other benefits. They also cannot use threats like discipline, exclusion, sanction, or punishment to force it. If this happens on or after July 1, 2025, you can sue the state, a city or county, or officials in their official roles. You can ask a court to stop the rule or declare it unlawful; money damages are not provided.
