- Communities served by those treatment plants would likely see reduced PFAS discharges to waterways, lowering local exposure risks to drinking water and the environment.
- The EPA Administrator would have to set up the program within 180 days and may allow state water pollution control revolving fund loans and other public or private funds to count toward the non-Federal match.

PFAS cleanup grants for wastewater plants
The EPA would create a grant program within 180 days to help public wastewater plants. Plants could get funds to plan, design, or build systems to stop or treat PFAS and other emerging contaminants, and to meet Clean Water Act limits. It would authorize $200 million each year for 2026, 2027, and 2028. The federal share would cover at least 75% of project costs. Local matches could include public or private money, in‑kind work, and state revolving fund loans. Projects would follow state revolving fund rules, and EPA could not waive certain Title VI requirements.
