End ICE and stop funding
This bill would abolish U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE). Beginning on the date of enactment, no federal funds would be available to carry out any ICE functions. The bill would rescind the unobligated balance of each amount made available to the Director of ICE as of the day before enactment and would transfer ICE assets and liabilities to the Secretary of Homeland Security on the date of enactment. ICE would be abolished 90 days after enactment. Noncitizens and people in immigration detention would likely see less ICE enforcement activity, while ICE employees, contractors, and some local governments would likely face job, contract, and operational impacts.
