Blocks federal election funds to Minnesota

If enacted, this bill would block any funds authorized under the Help America Vote Act of 2002 from being made available to the State of Minnesota until certain records are sent to the U.S. Attorney General. The Secretary of State would need to provide: all records supporting same-day voter registrations (Minn. Stat. 201.061, subd. 3); all records of votes cast by those registrants; all records kept under Minn. Stat. 201.01, subds. 7 and 8; and any other records the Attorney General finds relevant to HAVA compliance. The funding block would begin upon enactment and would remain until the Attorney General receives the required records.
