Higher VA disability and survivor payments

If enacted, your VA disability, survivor, or clothing allowance payments would increase on December 1, 2026. The bill would raise the dollar amounts in effect on November 30, 2026 for wartime disability compensation, additional dependent payments, the clothing allowance, and dependency and indemnity compensation for surviving spouses and children. Each listed amount would be increased by the same percentage that Social Security (title II) benefits are increased on December 1, 2026 under section 215(i) of the Social Security Act. The VA Secretary would have to publish the new rates in the Federal Register by the same SSA publication date and could administratively adjust certain legacy rates under Public Law 85-857 to be consistent with the increase.
