Help Veterans Enter Advanced Manufacturing
This bill would require the Secretary of Veterans Affairs to develop and publish a "Veterans to Advanced Manufacturing Plan" within 30 days of enactment. The plan would list barriers veterans face getting jobs, challenges and regulatory burdens employers face when hiring veterans, and U.S. regions with the greatest need for advanced manufacturing workers. It would highlight veterans' skills and any training gaps, recommend short- and long-term actions VA could take, and suggest ways to improve outreach, training, mentorship, and education. The Secretary would consult employers, colleges, and worker groups. It would not provide money or change veterans' benefits.
