States must publish Medicaid abortion payments

If enacted, this bill would require States that make Medicaid payments with Federal funds to report and publish those payments. States would send the report to HHS and post it on a State website within 60 days after the fiscal year. Each report would list every Federal Medicaid payment to an abortion provider, the payment amount, and the purpose. Reports would compare each payment to what the same provider received in prior fiscal years. States would also report how many abortions each provider performed. For each abortion, the report would list the gestational age and the method used. HHS would collect all State reports, publish them on its website, and send them to the House Energy and Commerce Committee and the Senate Finance Committee within 90 days. The bill would add this reporting duty to States' Medicaid plan requirements and defines key terms used for the reports.
